Will I’m a Celebrity winner catch the 500k reward?

The rumour mill of 2018’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is out in full force ahead of the next series.

For the first time ever, the top six vote-getters in this year’s series will compete for the title of king or queen of the jungle.

Previously, it was only the final six who competed in the jungle and would then collect $150,000.

But what the show bosses don’t tell you is that once contestants finish the show, they get paid for just one more series.

Expert TV psychologist Dr Pam Spurr explains why.

She says, “Previous contestants have quit the show but are not paid for any later series because there has been so much money spent on them over all.

“This series $150,000 has gone for less than the cost of one episode of the British entertainment show ‘It’s a Knockout’ which costs $9.50 to watch in the UK. It is the perfect greed for everyone involved.”

“Every year, the show is set up to enrich themselves financially. The proof of that is in the amount of money they are paid as ex-contestants.

“In 2014, three ex-I’m a Celebrity stars were paid a fee of $100,000 each to take part.

“In 2015 that rose to $150,000. In 2016, five celebs were each paid $400,000, and in 2017 so far, seven celebs are on pay pots in excess of $1 million.”

But will the winner this year collect their 500k when the series starts?

Claire Skinner in 2016

Ex-professional circus performer, Claire Skinner from Hackney, London became a surprise winner of the latest series.

Since the shock victory, several ex-contestants, a couple of contestants’ spouses and even a former contestant’s partner all come out to claim they owe Skinner money.
