Murder probe underway after woman found fatally shot in Montgomery County home

Federal and local authorities are investigating the death of a 60-year-old woman in Silver Spring, Maryland, as a homicide.

Krystal Rose Robinson was found unresponsive Thursday morning in a home in the 7500 block of Perrero Road. An autopsy conducted by the Medical Examiner’s Office later determined that she died from “multiple gunshot wounds.” Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The killing marks the 13th homicide of the year in Montgomery County, Maryland, which has seen 12 murders so far this year. Since the start of 2018, the county has seen 51 murders.

In a press release sent Friday, the Montgomery County Police Department said it was conducting a homicide investigation. So far, no arrests have been made.

Robinson’s family declined to comment Friday.

Officials believe Robinson may have been dead “for more than a day,” the Montgomery County Police Department wrote in a press release. Police are checking surveillance videos and searching for cellphone records to determine if Robinson’s calls or text messages were directed to someone in the area.

They also called for the public’s help, asking anyone with information to call the police at 240-773-5074 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
