(CNN) – One member of Canada’s cadet organization is facing a sexual assault charge after a teenage girl allegedly met her assailant on social media.

Daniel Stock, a Royal Canadian Air Cadet (RCAC) member with the York Region Aeronautical Club (YRAAC), is facing sexual assault and risk of injury charges, according to the Canadian broadcaster CBC.

Police found the victim at the scene of an alleged incident, which took place in the winter of 2018, and arrested Stock in June.

The teen attended a YRAAC banquet at a hotel in Brampton, Ontario, CBC said.

Authorities allege the girl agreed to exchange private photos with Stock and engaged in sexual contact with him.

The girl’s mother reportedly noticed some “updates” she received from her daughter on Instagram, which contained private photos.

After questioning the girl, the mother said she discovered exchanges between her daughter and Stock.
